Happy St. Patrick's Day, lovelies! Seems the perfect time to finally post pictures of my mint Simplicity Lisette 2209 dress, don't you think? Idle Fancy needs a little Irish today, even if my ancestors are all Swedish farmers and - embarrassing on this particular day - English aristocrats.
I've been wearing the heck out of this dress since the beginning of March. The pique, from Hancock's once more, is of wonderful quality and is a joy to wear. So much so that I may have given in and invested in 3 yards of some baby pink pique from the same line. You know, just maybe. It would be nice to say that I plan to make something new with it, but - let's be honest - I need another 2209 in my life.
I love, love, love this pattern. You probably already noticed that from previous version though, so onto the pictures!
Note: Looking for construction details on Simplicity 2209? Check out the post on my original rose print version of this dress. I give all the nitty gritty details, as well as alterations I made.

Such a cute dress! That pattern is so fantastic, isn't it? Love the color on you. :]
ReplyDeleteIt is so lovely on you...I would love to try this pattern sometime.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too embarassd about the English ancestors! We've moved on!! Belated Happy St Patricks Day!
Love this dress! I listen to podcasts too whilst sewing i have to have something on but nothing too distracting, i love the history and literature ones and also the sew forth podcasts. Have a lovely weekend!

Oh you look so cute!! It looks like the tuck in the front turned out the same way it did for me. I thought in the picture on the pattern it looked more like a gather I just did not get the front of this dress when I was putting it together lol!! I should post a picture of the dress so you can see it. I will have to check out your post on how you put it together. When I was at Joann's the other day I saw they got in the whole line of fabric that goes with all the Lisette patterns it was really cute. I got swamped with doll orders but you are really making me want to dig into my spring fabric! Have a wonderful weekend Love Heather
ReplyDeleteRebecca, thanks so much! Isn't it a wonderful color? And - you're right - this pattern is absolutely amazing. I know I should be sewing other things, but it's so cute that it's addicting. I love it!
ReplyDeleteMillie, thank you so much for stopping by the blog...and absolving me of my English ancestry guilt. ;-) Hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you should definitely try this pattern, if you ever come across it. It's my new favorite - quick to sew, with cute results every time. Can't beat that!
Thanks, Alexandra! Also, hooray for another podcast listener! I've actually looked at the Sew Forth podcast quite a few times, but have yet to download one. With your recommendation, I'm definitely going to give it a try during my next sewing session.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend, as well!
Thank you, Garnet!! Honestly, I can't wait till you get your hands on these pattern either. Your versions are bound to be absolutely adorable.
ReplyDeleteHeather, you should definitely post a picture. I would love, love, love to see your version of this dress! It's quickly becoming one of my favorite patterns, hands down. And aren't those Lisette fabrics LOVELY? I totally had to restrain myself from buying them all up. The voiles especially are absolutely dreamy!
